Slow Poetry zine, 2016

“the Edge of the World is Now” is a minimal, poetic prose writing by Jason Engelund. The writings are slow poetry, visceral, often short one line per page entries that build into a larger narrative. The handmade book gives space for the reader to question illusions we take for granted such as the oceanic horizon, while the narrative takes the reader through questions of grand narratives of myth, mortality, and finding a new ways to navigate the world. The book was hand written and the front and back covers are the artist’s photographic artworks that explore landscape and how we make and meaning from visual perception.
