Icarus Survives
Icarus Survives is a visual tone poem of abstract and surreal landscapes telling a new version of the classic myth, in which after escaping the prison labyrinth, Icarus, the spirit of ambition survives. The book includes images of artworks that are not for sale, black and white paintings and photos created in 2019. A surreal, psychedelic journey towards radical freedom.

House of Perception
House of Perception, a Prelude to the Horizon is a minimalist narrative moving from the captivating tragedy of the melancholic sublime towards the freedom of individual potential. The story is told through a challenging exploration of photography as a metaphor for our interpretation of reality. Themes of Jason’s art come to light through narrative format, including ideas around existentialism’s idea of freedom in his series “In Camera, No Exit, Just Colors”. Through abstractions of photography a visual story unfolds about changing one’s perception to elude the oppressive, and find individuation and individual potential. Like quasi-shamanic images from the lens and black box of the mind’s camera eye, we see past the boundaries of the film frame, the magic picture window of reality. The viewer moves through the story leaving the entrancement of the decayed gothic and begins to understand the alluring potential in the distant horizon.
