ABOUT THE ARTIST
Jason Engelund's photographs are compositions of abstracted light that evoke visceral sensations. His approach is interdisciplinary, combining aesthetics of painting and photography. By experimenting with the camera, he creates technical, yet intuitive compositions that are subjective in nature. Engelund’s work raises questions of space, light, the camera’s mechanical process and perceptual experience.
Jason Engelund is represented by Modernbook Gallery and PhotoBistro. His work has been featured in numerous solo and group exhibitions. He has assisted in documenting flamenco culture in Andalucia Spain, and was a visiting artist at Auroville Press, Auroville, Tamil Nadu India.
